I was thoroughly invested. Having 3 distinct methods of conversation was quite enjoyable. I was quite drawn in the more I read. And the more I read, the more I longed for letters of my own.

I found this pretty boring, trite, and predictable. I didn't care about any of the characters or how the minor mystery (that is the main plot device) ended up resolving.

DID NOT FINISH: 52%

Have read before several years ago and enjoyed it, but it didn’t hold my attention the same way rereading it now

This book pulled me in from the beginning - it has a wonderful quirky way of telling the story through email correspondence, texting, and alternating between chapters in a book and letters being written between characters. It may sound confusing but it’s quite easy to follow and the storyline moves itself forward beautifully. I found this love story to be engaging and fun. I needed a light-hearted read and this was perfect! While it’s a love story that takes place in the past, it is tied to the present when Josie, the main character, finds her name in the written story. Josie keeps reading to find out what happens to the man she is sure she loves.

This book was full of wonderful quotes that I found myself highlighting while I was reading. That is rare for me in fiction - I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this book in the beginning, but about halfway through, I couldn't put it down. I laughed out loud. I cried. I read with delighted fervor, feeling tortured and somehow loving every minute of it. It went from a "fun" read to piercing my soul. I'm a big Jane Austen fan, and Caroline George wrote right to my Mr. Darcy-loving heart, but in an even better way than I could have been prepared for.
