This book feels like a mindful moment, itself. The text is short and clear, and line and watercolor illustrations on each page set a restful tone. The information about travel is fairly basic (bring photocopy of your passport) but there are some good tips about how to disconnect to experience new places more deeply. Overall, it's a cohesive piece that would make a good gift for a young traveller.

I think I read an article about this book on some travel website (Afar? Travel + Leisure?) and the premise immediately hooked me. After reading it, perhaps ironically, I think this could have just been an article published online and been great. It would make a great gift for a traveler or mindful person, but for me I read a lot of these and my reaction was either like “duh,” “no way,” or “hmm maybe.” It’s very short and to the point. Most of the pages are made up of simple watercolor illustrations. I would have liked it more if it was more in-depth.

What a delightful, beautiful and simple book! The simplicity of ideas is what makes it worthwhile. Recommend for anyone planning a long trip (or who wants to plan a short trip that feels like a long trip!).
