Considering the mindfuck of Gravity's Rainbow, this was a pretty straightforward book. Looks like a Carl Hiaasen, reads like someone bet Tom Robbins he couldn't write a Carl Hiaasen. Now I've gotta read a third to find out which was the fluke.

Pretty good. During parts I was lost but ultimately much more accessible and entertaining than his other more "academic" works.

Different in subtle ways than the film, some bigger than others. The biggest being the book is about not being able to let go of the potential of the 60’s and the film being about not letting go of the potential of a past relationship. I finally made it through my first Pynchon (3rd book I tried!)

So bad, definitely a waste of time and not funny.
