witcher training, magician training and the elves' battle

But others were so boring (

talking at the beginning and in the middle of persons we never really get to know

The book reads like an prologue to some greater adeventures, it doesn't happen much yet.

Reading the series to understand the games better, it's such a complex and facinating world. Sapkowski is really great at world building. The characters aren't really likeable, but I can see why he chose to make them the way they are.

Świetna książka, konkretnie w edycji audio, wspaniałe słuchowisko. Myślę, że wersja audio jest 100x lepsza od samego czytania. Na pewno o wiele lepiej mi się słuchało, niż jeden ze zbiorów opowiadań, które kiedyś próbowałam czytać. Postaci kobiece są bardzo silnie napisane, choć czasami nie jestem pewna, czy z lekką prześmiewczością lub seksualizacją. Ale po pierwszej książce nie umiem stwierdzić, czy jest to stosunek autora do kobiet lub natura świata, który zbudował, więc ocenę tego tematu zostawiam do czasu, kiedy przeczytam więcej książek z serii.
