Decent body horror novella with a lot of queer subtext. I think it tries to be about too many things and doesn't end up having coherent thoughts about any of them (transhumanism, being trans and beholden to the pharmaceutical industry, trauma from complicity with a dehumanizing corporation), but it's pretty sick when a lesbian turns into the monster from Carrion and eats Newark.

I think this is the weirdest book I've ever read. Don't take the "body horror" warning lightly.

(Also, is this based on Venom fanfiction?)

Yaya has to report to Alpha Beta Pharmaceuticals for checkups because of a genetic condition they caused in the womb. After a hookup she discovers teeth between her legs. From there she learns that her latest hookup was not who she said she was and ABP goons are after her. It's goes beyond teeth though, when tentacles start to emerge and possibly have a mind of it's own.

I loved Yaya as a character, and also Magenta! The body horror in this was exquisite. The imagery of these tentacles really made the story. There was also the romance between Doc and Yaya. Hailey Piper crafted these complex characters, and I enjoyed this body horror, corportate conspiracy, romance story.
