The last half was helpful, unique and informative. The first half was a little generic (dress professionally, don't job hop, ect.). I was hoping for more personal stories and anecdotes. She's funny, though, and the book has a light, fun vibe.

Not compelling enough. Kind of boring - and I love an audiobook memoir

I have always liked Jen Atkin. She always seemed one of the more down to earth hair stylists of the Kardashians. I even admire her OUAI line, especially after the first product I tried truly helped my hair. But even after following her on Instagram for a few years now, I didn't really look up to her until earlier this year. I listened to a podcast where she was a guest on the episode and she truly blew me away as a businesswoman. Like actually gave great descriptive advice. I knew I had to immediately buy her book and read it. Six months later and I finally read it.

Not only does she offer great leadership advice and business tips but she literally tells you the things you wish people told you. She isn't vague but instead she actually gives you guidance. If you're feeling lost in your life or unsure what you want to do, that's okay she has advice for that too. She offers so many suggestions on how to improve yourself. She's literally saying "This is what you do and HOW."

The biggest takeaway from all she has to say is that the rules she's suggesting for you to adapt in your life and business- sets you up for long term success for your business. Not shortcuts that only lead to 15 minutes of success.

Overall Atkin really comes off to have such a great heart. I highly recommend this book because I can only see people benefitting from her uplifting words.

If you’re looking for career/entrepreneurial advice, this is a great book for you. If you are looking for an inside scoop on Jen’s celebrity centered life, this book is not it. It’s very career and goal oriented and although it was a bit different than what I was expecting, it was a fun read and I have SO much respect for Jen Atkin! 3.5 ⭐️
