Fairly fast paced book for the most part... a lot happened in the first 10 pages but I was kinda confused at first. It heated quickly and I must admit I'm not crazy about Gryphon but I liked Amber very much as well as Halcyon?
All the rape kinda got on my nervs but I was SHOCKED and glad that she
Spoiler cut Sampson's willy off. That was great! lol

It was good over all.

Paranormal romance with a scifi setup & strong eroticism. This had a lot of the positives of Laurel K. Hamilton's Meredith Gentry series, but didn't seem to wander so far away from the actual plotline. I recommend this series at the store all the time for people who like LKH but get frustrated when the amount of sex begins to interfere with the story, and most have come back satisfied.

This book is a little hard to rate. Let me start with the positives first. I liked how unique the story is. I haven't read a book like "Mona Lisa Awakening" and the story is very compelling. It has great characters, action and sex. I for one am completely bored with formula type books that are so predictable. This book is a breath of fresh air.

On the other hand I felt Sunny could of improved with the character development with Mona Lisa and Gryphon. I didn't feel that connection. I felt a bigger connection with Lisa and Amber. Her characters although interesting is a little void of emotion. There are a few times where Mona Lisa is about to get raped and I felt her reaction was unusual. I think sunny just needs to expand a little more.

Speaking of rape, if you are one that hate reading about rapes in books then this book probably isn't for you. This book does not advocate rape. In fact it opposes it greatly but I know some people get very emotional when rape is discussed in books.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am not going to waste anytime to read the next installment.

I selected this book because 1, I was intrigued by an author who only has one name; 2, the cover said something about how if you like Laurell K. Hamilton, you'll love this woman; and 3, her husband is a NYT bestseller. I was not disappointed. She writes well, tells a good tale of fantasy and romance, and -- the best sign of all -- I was so disappointed to reach the last page. There are at least two more in the series already published, so at least I won't have to wait long to continue the story.

Weird Weird Book! Restorative Sex and Multiple Partners is too much for me.

I gobbled this book up in one day, but it reminds me of too many other books to give it 5 stars ie Laurell K Hamilton - Merry Gentry and Anita Blake series .
I have to read the next one, but not sure it will keep me interested enough for the whole series.

4.5

Love it! Hidden secret world and harem of godly men? Hell yes!!

This is a series I fell in love with right away after I read her lil' short story of it actually and was dieing to read more.

Mona Lisa was sort of a breath of fresh air, a refreshing change of character and very likable in my opinion. I love the sexual part of this whole series and who wouldn't want a harem of men to seduce you without it being a problem? Guilty pleasure!

The monère part is fascinating and the underworld/lucifer just adds to it. I love how it's a story I've never seen before and you don't know how nice that can be. Originality : A+

A must read in my opinion!

And yet another new vampire world! It mixes in a bit of the werewolf with its emphasis on the moon in this particular culture as well as creating a very matriarchal society with its very individual groups.

It's very good...

This is a crazy addicting book. It is going along with my current mythical creature obsession and it written well.
