Luin vähän hämmentyneenä kirjasta tehtyjä kehuvia kirja-arvioita, sillä huumori ei osunut oman makuni kanssa yksiin, enkä todellakaan tikahtanut nauruun, vaikka takakansiteksti lupailee jotain sen suuntaista. Nopealukuinen kirja, mutta olen varmaan liian juurtunut realiteetteihin, kun en kerta kaikkiaan pystynyt eläytymään uudestisyntymiseen muurahaisena tai marsuna.

Easy read and pretty funny, not laugh out loud funny but made me smirk now and then. However it's filled with clichés. The ending is rather cheap, too easy and unbelievable (which means something in a book where a woman is reincarnated as an ant) which is why I only give this one three stars.

I read this book a few years back and I must say it is one of my many, many favourite. David had a genius idea with the story and the characters he created are just so real.
The book is in the first person of Kim Lange, a tv women, famous with the biggest career, married and with a daughter. You know, that someone that we see on tv and think “that girl must have it all”. And we get to know her, her large ego, and her life (after she passed away) through her own voice. I must say that I never thought to read a book written by a men with a women as a main character but… that could actually be written by a women. Kim character is just so well built, in her worst and best (and my favourite character in the book by the way).
To me this book is the perfect mix of light reading, a bit of life philosophy and reflection, positive vibes and with so much humour… OMG, I can tell you it is hilarious. Seriously, from start to end, I could not stop bursting out laughing out with the bitchy and snarky Kim’s personality and the situations she had to face during all her reincarnations as animals until she finally be able to became a human again. And of course, if there is reincarnation, you will have Buda in the story and he does not make this easy on her.
In conclusion: perfect reading after a hard day just to have a good laught.

Hörbuch in ein paar Stunden gehört. Absolute Zeitverschwendung.
Weder lustig noch spannend. Voll gepackt mit dummen Klischees. Die Hauptpersonen waren mir sehr unsympathisch. Über Buddhismus lernt man auch nichts. Die Sprecher sind mit auf die Nerven gegangen. Hätte es nach ca 10 min aus gemacht, aber mein Freund wollte es weiter hören.
Werde definitiv keins der anderen Bücher lesen oder hören.

Hacía mucho que no me leía un libro tan deprisa y con tanto disfrute. Quizás porque cayó en mis manos en el momento justo: verano y necesidad de algo ligero. Una historia original, un personaje odioso que se medio redime (para mí, que Buda tiene demasiada manga ancha: yo hubiese hecho sufrir mucho más a Kim...) y un final esperado, pero también lógico. Confieso que el personaje de Casanova me fascinó tanto (y el puntazo de sus notas a pie de página) que le puse una estrella de propina sólo por él.
