Loved this one.

3 stars. This one was fun. It was different but this series is very repetitive so I think I'm gonna take a break and stop at this one. I'll pick up the next one sometime next month because this isn't a series that I can binge straight through. I'd feel like I were going insane or something.

Klaus didn't have a chance to be a problem this time because he doesn't take part. Also, that sword fight...

The fourth book in the Series of Unfortunate Event series, and one of the shorter books.

The orphans are sent to work at a Lumber Mill, where their new "guardian" has them to work there in exchange for protecting them from Count Olaf. Needless to say, Olaf shows up anyways with two accomplices who work to brainwash Klaus and force accidents at the mill.

It's a standard story for the series, but seeing Violet forced to do Klaus's main skill of reading challenging books and Klaus have to create an invention to save the day was a fun twist. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, and now it's off to one of the best books in the series.

This book....was far more ridiculous than the previous three. I did like the plot discussion in this one more than the last one. But, there were several things that felt way too cartoony or silly? Which wasn't the tone set up strongly in book one. (Like, how does a piece of gum pull a tree sized log off a machine? Or having a sword slash teeth fight with an infant??? Idk.)

Hanging on because I want to see the series through and they're at least comical and easy to read.

Also, all the adults in this world are always so infuriatingly naive and stupid. Please just believe the kids for once.
