I wanted to like this book, but it took waaaay too long to get to the meat of the story and it was all pretty predictable in a boring way. Maybe it would’ve been better not as an audiobook so I could skim. I really had to speed it up to get through it.

Nothing mind blowing and not without a few issues, but still an entertaining, gothic ghost story.

Kind of like a beach read--fast, light, plot-driven, entertaining. But it's a gothic ghost story--so more like a winter fireside read. Fun.
