This was so sweet. I cried for the last third of the book.

Growing up can be hard, especially when you are in middle school and all your friends want to do is look at their phones, talk about boys, and play video games. Who wants that? Not Lora, so she holds a tea party seance and summons her very own ghost best friend. But as Lora grows older, she learns that it may not be as wonderful as she thought to be stuck in a perpetual childhood.

This book started as a 3 for me.. upgraded to 4 about two-thirds in and then ended as a 5, and left me teary. Loved the development of the characters and the loose storytelling style.
There was also a ‘how I made this’ at the end that I loved - helped me appreciate the story even more!
Picked it up randomly after reading a different comic in the same genre… glad I did!

A lighthearted read with a sweet message about friendship and growing old. I especially appreciated the last part of the book where she shows her artistic process and a behind-the-scenes look at the development of her drawings.

This was sweet

incredibly polite of everyone on the n train to avert their eyes as I wept silently into the final pages of this book
