I just finished this book and I have tears pouring down my face. This was such a magical and heart-wrenching story. My friend sold me on reading this because it included "a friendship story and death" (honestly, my two favorite things). I was intrigued, naturally, but was not prepared for how deeply this story would hit me. At first it was whimsical and cute, but it got progressively more emotional as it went along. This was so beautiful and I'm so glad I read it even though my heart is shattered now.

This book was really cute!! But I don't think this is as good as I wish it would've been. I'm not sure if it was the plot or what, but it just didn't hook me like I've had other graphic novels do so.
The art style?? Gorgeous. If you're a fan of the art in Tea Dragon Society, then Seance Tea Part is the graphic novel for you. I could honestly look at art like this every day and never get bored. Always say it's cute too. The colors and they way the artist drew its people was super effective and drew me into the story.
The plot was okay. I mean, it was one of those graphic novels that had a plot but didn't have one at the same time. This was more of a coming-of-age story than anything, which was fine! But a little boring if I'm being honest. Nothing against the graphic novel by any means, but the plot just didn't want to keep me reading. The supernatural elements were a good touch, but the overall plot was a bit lackluster. It did make me feel warm and fluffy inside, though!!! It was a story about how you need to move on from your past but never forget it. And appreciate where you come from.
Overall, the art style and how cute the story was made me give this graphic novel a 3.5 star. It wasn't as good as a 4 star, but at the same time it wasn't just "okay". So a 3.5 star it is!! I hope you give this graphic novel a chance!! Happy Reading!!!
