So good and I love the bts tidbits at the end

Such a cute story about friendship and dealing with change.

While a middle grade graphic novel, this one is one we can all relate and connect to.

The art is stunning. I spent more time just looking at all the fun details.

This had no right making me feel all the feelings.

Lora is growing up, but she’s not all that excited about it, she would much rather play make-believe and dress-up than go to parties and play with make-up.

This really propelled me backwards to playing witches in the garden with my friends and how one day it just… stopped. We stopped playing and started going shopping and going to the cinema instead.

A lovely message with beautiful illustrations!

The messaging was a little heavy handed, but I enjoyed watching the characters figure themselves out as people. The end is beautiful.

I found this book when I asked some friends for a lighter read after reading a number of books that felt heavy. While this was lighter and a relief, it also made me cry.

As Lora is growing older, she's struggling with the difficulties of it. Friends are moving on to different hobbies and likes while she isn't ready to, but also doesn't want them to think what she still like is childish—a feeling a lot of kids this age will be able to relate to.

There is a beauty in this that while Yee focuses on Lora and her journey of figuring out how she is going to handle growing up, it's done in a way that I think can be related to at any age. What's done so well about it is that there is acknowledgment that at any age, growing and changing can be scary. It makes it out to be something that can be really beautiful, and in many ways, a privilege.

Yee's art has a whimsy to it. It makes it this beautiful novel that feels perfect for fall while being a warm hug as it navigates through these topics.

Seance Tea Party was the perfect book to help reset me after a couple of hard, difficult reads. It ends up reading as such a comforting warm hug and I can only hope a number of kids who have some of the same fears as Lora find this book and pick it up.

A very sweet story about growing up... and whether we need to leave childhood behind. The drawing style is very cute.

A nice bittersweet coming-of-age story.
lighthearted medium-paced

I absolutely loved this graphic novel! From the aesthetic to the message, I thought it was wonderful all around. The magic of staying young while growing up was rich throughout.
