This is a well written contemporary romance that is both sweet and spicy. The main character describes herself as a mess, but you can’t help but root for her.

This is one of my favourites in this series! I loved both of our main characters and I thought the story was very well fleshed out. I loved the backdrop of Scottland and sword making too!

I haven't read a ton of romance novels, but I will say that this book felt deeper than others I'd read. The main character's backstory and issues were well-fleshed-out, realistic, and made me feel a lot of things I didn't expect to feel. The story around the sexual encounters wasn't just padding; it had emotional heft. And... the sexual encounters were great ;-)
The story does get a little more absurd toward the end, but I think that's typical of a lot genres. I really liked this book and I will definitely read more by this author.
