This is perfect. The art is beautiful, the mystery is very mysterious and Laura is very relatable. Simply amazing.

This was ... interesting, it reminds me a lot of [bc:American Gods|36949233|American Gods|Neil Gaiman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1512508990s/36949233.jpg|1970226]

This is like an ode to the Paco Rabanne finger-snapping commercials

3.5 stars rounded up. I enjoyed the second book more, especially the ending.

Review for The Wicked + The Divine Issues 1-11

I absolutely loved the graphics in this comic. They were so beautiful and the level of details (especially in the gory scenes) was mind-blowing. Pun kind of intended! The colors were stunning, basically on this level it was a 11/10 for me.

Most of the time though I was kind of unsure what was going on. I’d be getting into one storyline and then it’d jump to the next God and the next and repeat. With all the colors and the graphics, reading the storyline kind of made me feel like I was in some trippy acid world, where Gods were pop stars and their shows were places of worship for the fanatics. I wasn’t sure if I really liked Laura (main character whose story we follow), but perhaps I just felt uncomfortable reading from her perspective because she was so desperate and her character “reeked” of needy, attention seeking, obsessed teenager. It wasn’t enough to put me off though, and I’m so glad I didn’t stop reading because in my opinion the storyline got better in the following issues.

So this was a spectacular, pleasant surprise. I really didn't know anything about this series except that it was about queer pop star gods who die in two years. But as soon as I saw that Vengaboys reference at the beginning, I knew I'd love it. Boom, boom, boom, boom indeed!

What a delight, guess I’d better order vol 2 with HASTE

Slightly difficult to follow at times & the plot could be more developed, but the artwork is GORGEOUS, so I can overlook its limitations. Can't wait to see what happens next.
