I enjoyed reading this book. It is fun and paced well. There are some similarities to the Lucifer series, but it feels more superficial.
The premise is that every 90 years or so 12 gods return to Earth. They live for 2 years and then die. The gods become celebrities for the most part with a super fan as the protagonist. She meets Lucifer, who quickly gets put in prison for murder. The rest of the book is an attempt to find the real killer.
The artwork is fitting for the story. Very colorful and flashy. This can be reigned in when appropriate. I'm interested in reading the second book to see how the story plays out.

Usually, I try to find at least one positive thing about each book I review, but this was just, well, bad.
I'm not the fastest reader out there, but no graphic novel of this length has ever taken me this long to finish (about six days). This was just painfully difficult to get through, and to be honest, a bit headache-inducing. Every time I picked it up, I would read a few pages and then need to put it down, as neither the story nor the characters were developed or even coherent enough to push me through. Not even the art, while nice, was enough to make it feel worth my time.
The plot was confusing and hard to follow, the dialogue felt unnatural and awkward to read, and honestly, a story about reincarnated gods who take on the roles of modern celebrities/popstars should not be this boring.
Highly interesting, I have to pull my thoughts together a little bit before I can fully tell you what I thought of this.

'Screw these guys with this awesome concept' - I think this review on the back cover pretty much sums it up.

WOW. What a one-two(three-four) punch! The world building is delightful, instantly plunging the reader into a world of gods and miracles, and the roller coaster only speeds up from there. The protagonist, Laura, is a complex and utterly relatable lens through which to view the world. It is the relationships that really make this work stand out, however. The dynamic dialogue, the weighty sense of history, the unspoken looks all build a group you can't wait to listen to. I can't wait to get my hands on Book Two!
