3.5 - A sweet story about how sometimes the things that excite and busy you don't sound as interesting, and that's okay. All it takes is another spark, and it could come from anywhere. I really liked how these friends gathered together to try and get themselves out of a rut, but wish to have seen a bit more acceptance and gentleness vs the stress of always needing to do something. That being said, that antsiness is a fairly accurate portrayal of some neurodivergence.

This was super cute and fun! I think this would be a great book to read to kids when they get bored, and I could totally see it inspiring them to make their own treasure maps and pirate ships to go on an adventure with. I found the illustrations to be really nice and reminded me of the books I used to read when I was little, which I loved!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher/author for the ARC in exchange for a review!

'Badger is bored' focuses on a group of young animal friends who are all struggling to find something to do.

Pupils ages 1-5 will love this book. It can be linked to topics such as friendship, decision-making, and kindness. The illustrations are beautiful, and the sentence and word structures are simplistic, which is beneficial as young children won't be overwhelmed by the language.

Personally, this story didn't feel that unique or original. There are similar books out there, with similar art styles but I liked the storyline and I'm sure young children will love it too.

Thank you to netgallery for allowing me to read this funny and engaging book.

Such a cute story with illustrations to match. I loved how this book provides inspiration on ways to combat boredom by using your imagination. The author has brilliantly crafted a tale that will be relevant to young readers as they play through imaginative scenarios. This is yet another book that I will add to the growing list of books for my grandsons for Easter holiday. Five outstanding stars.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Badger is in a funk today-- nothing is fun. Not even all of his favorite things. Turns out that all his friends are having a similar feeling today too. Luckily, that all changes when Mouse comes over!

The art in this book is so stinkin' cute. I loved the style and all the adorable little woodland creatures. It felt whimsical and happy while still very accessible to children. Could help children come up with creative ideas for what to do when they are bored.

Not one of my all-time favorite children's books, but definitely cute and fun. I know a lot of small children who would love this book

A sweet story about a bored Badger and his equally bored friends. I adored all the animals and the illustrations were lovely. However, I was hoping for more to the story or deeper meaning behind it e.g. boredom is normal, let it pass, simply enjoy your time with friends without fretting about the need to do things.

I received an e-ARC of this book via Netgalley.

The artwork in this is absolutely adorable! We follow young Badger as he tries to occupy himself and enlists his friends in the mission. A very cute story.

The title tells you the story. Badger is bored, and so are his friends. They try different activities, things they usually like. But on that day, no activity seems fun or interesting. Then comes a mouse, and the animals get an idea to have fun and drive away boredom.

Kids are sure to relate to the story. They tend to get restless when nothing keeps them engaged. While there isn’t much depth to the story, the illustrations are beautiful. The backgrounds are done in pastels, and even the overall color scheme is lovely and soft on the eyes.

I only wish the text was bigger in size. The tiny text makes it hard to read when there’s enough blank space around.
