A great story about how sometimes when you're angry, you just want to be heard. Will definitely be reading this at story time.

OK so this gets a 5 star because 5-year old wants it read to her again. And picture books are for kids not adults. Which I find is the problem with reviews for children's books (YA on down).

What I didn't like about it is, of course, there has to be some sort of moral at the end - every picture book has to have one - and the book is rather long.

This reminded me of [b:Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day|46677|Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day|Judith Viorst|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1510014978l/46677._SX50_.jpg|1086647] at first. A grumpy cookie speaks directly to the reader, explaining all the bad things that have happened to them.

Then the story takes a turn. Cookie suddenly feels a lot better after realizing that the reader is a good friend for listening to all the complaining.

I gave this my best shot as a fun read aloud for my kid, but it came off awkward. Somehow Cookie's turn from angry to happy seemed desperate and weird to me. Now instead of being angry, Cookie is thirsty to be the reader's BFF.

In my opinion, there are much better picture books about dealing with negative emotions. This was cute, but not as heartfelt or emotionally mature about anger as "Grumpy Monkey."

Cookie is having a day. This totally relatable tale of a cookie having a series of unfortunate incidences is clever and cute. I can see it being an effective tool to talk with young ones about anger and how to deal with overwhelming feelings.

How cute was this book!! Angry Cookie was so angry but he will tell you all about it. I read this because my coworker bought me some cookies that are for keto eaters and we both loved them. She saw this book and wrote a note saying she was glad the cookies weren't angry. What a great friend who knows books and cookies!

For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleA cute book about, you guessed it, an angry cookie. Similar to books like Don't Push the Button! and Mo Willems's Pigeon series, this book deals with a cookie having a pretty rough day, which is eventually divulged to the reader. Not much in the plot department, but a fun read-aloud book with a heartwarming ending. The illustrations are fun and engaging as is the narration. Overall a fun read with cute pictures.

This cookie is NOT having a good day. But maybe things can turn around with a friend who won't leave his side, even when he's super cranky and mean. Unfortunately, you, reader, are that friend.
