Absolutely incredible. The juxtaposition of the two characters' stories, of the past and the present, and the interweaving of understanding as the stories unfold over the course of the novel is nothing short of brilliant in my opinion. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved this book - it is historical fiction with a dual timeline at its centre, one of my favourite types of book. Powerfully written, it is both haunting and heartbreaking. I loved all of the characters - I was drawn into their stories from the start and found this book impossible to put down and devoured it within a day. Both timeline stories are equally strong - which is unusual in this type of dual story books. The stories are set in 1940s Poland and today in Florida. A rollercoaster of a journey, I loved how we gradually found out how the two storylines were linked.

Fabulous - I can't wait to read more by Kelly Rimmer. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I found the book difficult to get into when I first started, but when I turned off the noise going on around me, I really enjoyed the way the main characters evolved.

DID NOT FINISH

The overexplaining of Autism was just too much - felt like preaching, an after school special on how to difficult it is for parents and how most who don't have austitic (on the autism spectrum as we're told in the book) don't have a clue.

“It costs our ancestors too damned much for us to have this life - the best thing we can do to honor them is to live it to its fullest.”

I fire this book so much.

The first half was a bit slow, cheesy, and could be told is a more concise way. But man, the beauty of the second half, the development of the characters, the roller coaster ride - the author was able to reach out to the reader and make us feel so much love.

I won't forget this book.
