I’ve had this on my holds ready to read for a while but was waiting to be in the right mindset for a more serious read. I’m glad I gave it the time and space it needed because it was truly a beautiful story! While switching between the past and present is quite typical for historical fiction, I feel like Rimmer did a wonderful job of weaving similar themes through both. Would highly recommend!

*listened on audible*
I loved this book. It was one of many I listened to during COVID. We put this audio book on, and began working on a puzzle. Hours would pass by before we would take a break, completely lost in the book. It often wasn't until we had to turn on lights, due to the sun setting that we realized - oh, we might need to take a break and fix some dinner, huh?
I loved the time travel back and forth. We definitely spent some time yelling at the book when characters were not making the wisest decisions. This ended up being on of my favorites for historical fiction.
