Wow. How this author is so widely published is beyond me. The ONLY reason this book gets 2 stars is because I was able to finish it. There were so many errors in this book that it was nearly unreadable. Things like "site" being used when "sight" was meant. Words were left completely absent from sentences.... And the dialog felt so cliche and choppy and uneven, that I actually began to wonder if the author was even familiar with English. Felt more like it may have been his second language rather than his native tongue. The story dragged on atrociously, with the author telling us far too much detail for things like armaments while failing completely to show us the emotions of characters that one would assume we are supposed to love or hate over the course of 460 pages. The science and tech always felt amateur, as though there was an idea, but no research done on the practicalities or real background of such tech.... a slightly nerdy 7th grader trying to impress a bunch of 5th graders with tech he knows nothing about.
I won't be wasting my time with another book by this author.

This was a big step upward from the previous book in the series, Legend.
Golemon presented a great take on the Atlantis myth, although I wish he'd explored the mystique of it all a bit more. There is a lot of buildup in actually arriving at the fabled city, but the events that take place there go pretty quickly for something that could have otherwise been quite majestic.
There are a few new supporting characters, mainly on the antagonist side. One in particular came across as very intriguing and mysterious, like there was a lot of something just ready to be revealed about him. But it never happens, and felt kind of squandered in that way. I wonder if Golemon had a whole bunch more to this character in earlier drafts of the story, and a bunch just got cut unfortunately? Perhaps, perhaps not.
It was a fun thriller steeped in great legend, and I'll continue the series because of it.

I love this series. Science-y but not to the point where I have no idea what is happening.
I tried. I really wanted to get into this book, but it just seemed to drag on. Too much talk about tectonic plates, earthquakes, and destruction. The Prologue was a beating in of itself to try and follow. The whole story seems a bit convoluted and fragmented. I don't recommend this one.
Pure, popcorn, b-movie action as always. Jack Collins and the rest of Event Group race against the clock to track down an Atlantean super-weapon. Implausible as the premise frequently is I do enjoy this series quite a bit. If you're look for a bit of fun I do recommend giving it a shot.
Really liked 1st 2 books in this series. But just could not get into this one so had to put it down and move on.
This was another good installment of the Event Group. In parts I did get bogged down in the technical aspects of what was going on. However, I really like the descriptions of Antarctica and what goes on there. With out any spoilers if you love Jack and the gang, you'll love this book. Also happy to see an old friend, a gruff one, return!
