Ok so what kind of messed up book is this? The skeletal kitten that was murdered in front of a child found in the soundproof cellar these children are also locked into is just messed up.

Like. Man. These were for kids, y'know.

This is, like, the third or fourth book. And you hit them with domestic violence, child abuse and animal abuse, along with animal cruelty, animal neglect and suspected slaughter of pets.
Like. What kind of messed up business is this, for real though.

It's a tiny, light-hearted kids book! With psychological torture.

I read this several weeks ago and I'm thinking about it daily, so good job, I guess. But they step on the dead kitten's decayed corpse. So...

Dec 2021 reread: Somehow this still manages to be the darkest entry in the series, and most of that is from that cellar.
