3 stars. Cute, fun book. There’s a lot of OTT personalities, but still somewhat believable. I enjoyed the friends of the MC’s as much as (if not sometimes more than) the MC’s themselves.
I’d never re-read it though because the “little things” that bugged me would be magnified and the newness would be gone.

Super cute. I really liked that the book was more of a forming of a life long friend group rather than just two people falling in love. Bc honestly reading purely two people falling in love is boring. I’d rather have the whole “found family” than just two goobers deciding they’re obsessed. Big thing that kinda bothered me tho was that food was not shown in its best light. Like I love when I get hungry when someone’s cooking in a book or eating cuz it’s described really tasty. This book put me OFF of food. Like between the girls in Mins family starving themselves, Harry throwing up, all the calorie counting, and them eating the same fucking dish every chapter… I swear I was feeling a little barfy. Is okay though imma go eat cheese cake to console myself.

I keep going between 3.5/4 stars for this book. It was enjoyable and reminded me of early 2000 romcom movies. It was a little slow the first couple of chapters but once it got going I didn’t want to put it down.

When you’ve re-read a book more than three times, it’s about time to bump up that rating from four to five stars. One of my favorite Crusie works. This was definitely meant to have been made into an absolutely absurd rom-com film.

It is so hard to even find words for this one.
I loved it with the passion of 1000 flaming Cupid-hearts. It was so funny, and sweet, and almost unbearably cute.
I know that I will read this one again and again.

There are just no words to express how much I love this book. It will be one of my favorites, in perpetuity.
Re-read July 2022
Definitely still a favorite. You have to hang in there past the asshole beat of the bet, but I feel like the author threaded that line perfectly - Cal was never onboard with it. But man, I just love this book.

Unfortunately, I was not as enamored of this book as its recommenders are. The book read like one of those silver-screen comedies that rely on bodily humor (what's the term for this? isn't there an official term for this?) and whiplash-inducing back-and-forth "dialogue" to give it its supposedly cheeky tone. Yeah, sorry: not my kind of humor. The little boy was cute, though, and I'm glad that Minerva is a plus-sized woman and not someone either bemoaning her small, skinny, curveless stature or a totally fit model-worthy goddess in her 30s. But Cal never charmed me, and when I'm not cheering the characters on and wishing for their happy ending, the story's not going to work for me.
