I don't even know where to begin with Bunny. I loved it. It was weird and funny and dark and surprising, and Mona Awad is a brilliant writer. I need to read more of her work.

Sometimes books that satirize the pretentiousness of academia end up coming across as, well, pretentious. But Bunny is funny and unhinged, and it doesn't feel elitist, even though Awad is clearly very clever. I can see why this one wouldn't work for everyone, but I devoured it.

Oh I loved this. It was twisted. It was surreal. It was weird. I found myself wanting to know more and hoping the protagonist put herself in danger to do so. šŸ˜¬ Normally Iā€™m like, ā€œno donā€™t go in thereā€ but this book was so intriguing I kept hoping sheā€™d go where she shouldnā€™t.

I will have to rate this book at a later date. I both hated it and yet was addicted to it. I'm not sure what I just read and need time to digest this book.

im so fucking confused
to anyone reading this - i am extending an open invite for someone to explain what i just read because i have no idea!
ive tried googling explanations and they seem to come out of nowhere.... like the plot twist felt like it came from left field.
the first third of the book i enjoyed! i loved seeing the personalities of the bunny's and how samantha falls deeper and deeper into their "cult". but around part 3 of this book i feel like it just begins throwing shit at the wall and praying something sticks. like im still so confused.
ive seen people saying the ritual aspect and supernatural themes were metaphors but i don't understand how... and people are saying samantha is unreliable? how? like after the third part i see how but.. there's not any hints to show that to me.
ive never been more confused about a book in my life. i still feel like so much is left unexplained to the point there's not really a point, and instead there is no "deeper meaning" to whatever i just spent 373 pages reading.
i just borrowed rouge from my library and im hoping my issue is isolated to this book and isn't a symptom of awad's work because i did not enjoy the ending! im so serious if this was more mystery novel rather than what it was i could see this being a 4-star but as it is... im so fucking lost
