This is an angsty, contemporary New Adult tale of a female photographer and her Irish racecar driving hero.
You saw the author's name, right? So you know that means the dirty talk is filthy and all over the place. TB's men always have a way with words that has me rereading the same paragraph three times as my heart pounds double-time.
Shane is no exception. He's somewhat mysterious and reserved, tortured, kind of a broody hero. Some of this impression comes from being only in the heroine's POV throughout the book (until the epilogue). I have to admit, I like this. I like being left in the dark as to the hero's feelings, and only seeing the glimpses he lets slip the cracks when he can't hold back. Shane can't hold back with Willa.
Willa believes something's wrong with her. She's no good with relationships. This is a very New Adult problem, so it might bother some. Not me. The emotions and sorrow were real, and that was all I needed to buy it. Willa and her sister have had a tough life. Now that her sister has found her man, Willa is a bit adrift. Winning a photo competition and a trip to Ireland sounds like a great way to get away from it all.
Only she runs straight into trouble as soon as she steps off the plane. Shane's family owns the inn where she'll be staying, but his master plan is to sell it, along with all its bad memories of his father, and continue his career as a racecar driver. He wants fewer ties to Ireland and his inn, not more.
So you see, it's impossible for them to be together. Both of them would have to totally change their most deeply held beliefs about themselves and the world. Are you getting this? It's an amazing story! Also, did I mention it's super sexy? 5 stars!

5+ Stars!! As usual with a Tessa Bailey book, this was spectacular. If you read book one of her Line Of Duty series, then you're gonna wanna check this out, as the book is about Gingers sister, Willa. Even if you didn't read Ginger's book, this can also be read as a stand alone.
I really need to stop reading books that feature characters from earlier books I haven't read yet. I dare you to pick this one up and not feel a burning desire to see exactly how Willa's story started. THANK GOD Protecting What's His, Willa's sister Ginger's story, is available on audiobook. Guess what book I'm listening to next?
Willa's story blew me away. It's written in first person, so we can see directly into her broken, "unfixable" heart--and right through her tough-girl exterior. Readers have a front row seat first as she runs away from the breakup of a relationship that never should have been and later as she flat-out sprints away from the one she was meant to have all along. It's glorious.
Willa and Shane have an antagonistic relationship from the start--she's determined to get her old who-cares-what-anyone-else-wants-or-thinks self back, and he's only hanging around his family's pub long enough to sell it and get back to his real life. Neither one wants anything to do with the other--neither has room for or wants anyone else in their lives--yet they're drawn to each other in a way that neither can deny.
Watching them fight is fantastic, because it's that I-can't-stand-you-let's-just-do-it-already kind of fighting. Tessa Bailey builds up the tension nicely, ratcheting up the steam factor until the reader is almost as ready to scream as her heroine and hero are. When they finally do get together it's with trademark Tessa Bailey steam, though perhaps tempered just a tad for the new adult market. Still, it's wonderful.
Willa, of course, isn't done running. Fortunately, Shane's got her number. Plus, he's not above tossing her over his shoulder to get his point across.
Delicious.
If you like witty banter, growly heroes, highly combustible sexual tension, and heartwarming family moments, then this is the book for you.

Willa Peet (Ginger's younger sister from Protecting What's His) isn't nice, and she's done pretending to try. She left her first and only boyfriend Evan, a nice guy, because she knew he was just waiting for her to figure her shit out. To fix herself, or let him fix her. Evan didn't understand that Willa doesn't want to be fixed, so Willa had to leave.
Thankfully, the photography contest Willa entered sends her off to Ireland for a month, a glorious chance to distance herself from her comfort zone. Too bad the sexy, sexy pub/inn owner sent to pick her up from the airport immediately shatters all of her expectations.
Shane, on a brief stint home from his Grand Prix racing career to sort out a sale of his family's pub and inn, cannot believe his visceral and immediate attraction to the whip smart and prickly Willa. Girl even ditches him at the airport. Hell.
Two broken souls may just found out there broken pieces fit perfectly together, despite how desperately the both try to tell themselves their affair is temporary.
Oh wow, a glorious audio book. Loved the Irish accents. SUPER steamy, but definitely more of a slow-burn than Bailey's other books I've recently read, and boy did it burn good. I did miss her normal dual POV, as this is entirely in Willa's, but whatever. One of my favorites. Enemies to lovers, car racing, family, misty Irish meadow sexy-times, and realistic drama. My catnip.

I enjoyed Unfixable immensely. The characters were great. The setting was gorgeous and now I want to hop on a plane to Dublin.
I enjoyed reading Willa and Shane's story but my favorite part of Unfixable was Kitty, Shane's mother. The light in which Tessa Bailey portrayed Kitty was awesome. Knowing people who have mental disabilities/conditions personally, I couldn't have asked for a better portrayal from Bailey. Kitty is a shining star.
Ginger and Derek made appearances in the book. It was great to see them again, though I didn't actually realize that Willa was Ginger's sister until too far into the book. Sort of embarrassed about that but I caught on quickly. ;)
Unfixable was a quick, fun read. Willa and Shane's story won't leave me for a long time.

4.5* So glad Willa got her story, Shane was perfect for her. I absolutely love Tessa Bailey's books, I'm always totally engrossed the whole way through :)
After breaking up with her boyfriend and winning a trip to Dublin, the last thing Willa Peet wants is a romantic entanglement. Then she meets Shane Claymore, dark-haired and blue-eyed racer and reluctant owner of the Claymore Inn.
Packed full of strong snarky characters and explosive chemistry, Unfixable is a stand out novel written by Tessa Bailey that will leave you with one hell of a book hangover*.
I loved this book from the first page until the very last word, and cannot wait until I read more from Tessa Bailey.
*Book Hangover; the inability to start a new book because you’re still living in the last books world.

Willa broke up with her long time boyfriend, and has now found herself in another country, trying to process everything and put it all away. What she doesn't expect while traveling abroad is the handsome rougish Shane, who loves to drive fast, and push Willa's buttons. Shane helps run the inn his family owns, and has since his father passed. Willa has a troubled past, and feels that no one, not even herself, can fix it.
This vacation romance is amazing, and I really enjoyed getting Willa's story, as we met her in a previous Tessa Bailey novel! These are really fun, and filthy smutty to boot! Definitely check them out if you like that rough, gritty sexy times!

I loved this book up until the end and then it just burned up for me. This is a 3.5 star book for me! Also, the heroine is maybe 18 and I think the hero is closer to 30. His age and the gap didn't bother me as much as her youth.
Still, it was a really fun read and now I am dying to go to Ireland.
