Kuang calls upon every single crevice of despair and brings them to fiery light that no one can smother. Her capacity to draw upon the deep crevices of wrath, cunning, rage, desire, loathing, loneliness, hope, fury, and resigned acceptance I truly knows no bounds. She has fundamentally shown the lines that fall in between emotions and then blurred them seamlessly.

I loved the plot of the story the force to drive it forward. I was interested in scheming and all those things. However, it was too slow paced. With the first book I could still understand the pacing this time it was harder because there was no character development for Rin. I knew in the first book that I don't like her but that was okay, I still wanted to see her perspective. This book it was just disappointment after disappointment... I get why she is like that but there was no improvement to her character. This book just let me down a lot but I will still read the next book.
