A bit too precious; also, Hicok is a bit too overzealous in sharing aspects of his wife's genitalia.

This collection is unafraid to get into the gritty details of loving another person. Oftentimes, the descriptions of sex are almost too detailed, but it holds together nicely with the messy way that the love evolves throughout the collection. There is the occasional poem that feels like it uses vulgar language just for the shock factor of it, but generally, the poems are tastefully crafted and show a huge range of emotion and complexity in a healthy, ever-evolving relatioship.
