Fuck yes I loved this book. In the beginning it was difficult to rly get into the story or smt but it just got better and better. Just when I thought I finally figured it out, that was very much not the case. The ending was super cute. The plot was 10/10 incredible and so fucking thought-through (idk if that’s a word lmao).

A New Girl vibe + A Schitt's Creek cast + Lesbians = one happy reader. I grinned, giggled, laughed out loud, and stifled reactions in public because of this book. I felt some type of way about reading certain scenes at work and kept reading anyway because I was not hitting pause on this story for love or money. Pancake Billy's House of Pancakes was a magical setting with a feeling that I can only dream of transposing onto my own stories, and the characters were either helplessly lovable or comically despisable.
The ending felt a bit self-indulgent, but I'm willing to let that slide because of how enjoyable the whole reading experience was.
This was an incredible world to get lost in, especially during Pride month. I'm glad to have spent time in it.

I found this book to be a fun read, but too long. It could have benefitted from stronger editing, potentially one or two fewer side plots would have helped the pacing. Overall this is a cute love story with flourishes of the supernatural. I found the characters to be really endearing, and the sex scenes were quite well written. I’m not 100% sure I’d recommend it - this is more of a skim than a deep read to me.

The plot and the characters were*chef's kiss*, the pacing 👎 and the main roma-  nce meh. August was really annoying for the first half of this book but she turned out alright! Jane was good representation but one-dimensional af.

Casey McQuiston has once again made my sad lesbian heart happy once again. The fact that this one was wlw made it even more relatable (for me) than Red White & Royal Blue - both are amazing though. Also, I've finally found someone I can use to describe my type, because It's literally Jane.
