Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley has my heart. This is one of my favourite novels ever. The pacing is perfect for my liking, the characters have so many layers, the narration is beautiful; I adore this book.
Not only is this a gothic masterpiece, it’s also a look into Shelley’s view of the world. The pain and solitude resound so loud in the pages, that I cried a tear or two. I love this novel.

I was really surprised by this novel. It was absolutely nothing like I expected. There was no Igor, there was a sister and and the monster wasn't even Green.
I think the writing was fantastic and this was just so raw/emotional. It's really more of a character study of how Victor got to where he was. Reading about how he didn't connect to school children or humans in general fit into what you'd expect of a man into reanimating. I liked how he descried Elizabeth as animated and his friend as humane. Words that you wouldn't typically use, but suited the story as a whole.
I think the letters were really boring at the start. It took until the actual story started for me to really get into the story.
4/5 stars.
I recommend this to fans of horror and classics. Its interesting seeing how much other horror novels have drawn on Frankestein.

Meh. Didn’t like the moving around to 1,000 different countries with no real explanation as to why.

I am sure if it wasn't for school I would have found more enjoyment in this book. I really tried! This book helped me learn a lot about writing and language. Still, I struggled to understand it.
I enjoyed Frankenstein's monster's perspective and I loved Clerval. The descriptions of nature were gorgeous and it is absolutely a well written book.
