it was an easy read that was super familiar. When I was reading it, I kept thinking about my own memories. I also grew up in Manila, also ate in The Aristocrat, also played "Langit Lupa" and also been to Pangasinan several times. It was funny and nostalgic but at the same time serious and contemplative. I like this book, it brings back a lot of happy and sad memories. Coelho once said "Remembrance is for the old" and I feel so old when I was reading it! haha

It's for the Filipinos out there who grew up in a world without computers, who played in the streets, who have eaten snacks less than P1, who have went to Divisoria to buy school supplies, who had lost a best friend, etc. You wouldn't be dissapointed.
