This was the second time I read Hidden Scars. I will tell you I barely remembered the first. It's always a weird feeling to get a book on KU that sounds so good and then you open it up and it's at 100%. Wait what? I read this? How do I not remember? I've just read so many.

Anywho. This is such a hood book. Very steamy. As I had said before I love a possesive jealous MMC. Preston and Jeremy have a very unconventional relationship but it works for them. Jeremey's love for Preston is so pure. Love it.

I went into this thinking it would be the perfect formula for a 5 star read for me. Hot hockey players, plenty of spice, and hurt/comfort is exactly what I love. But… the pacing moved poorly for me and I felt like the beginning and middle drug on with nothing really happening and the ending was poorly paced.

I did love all of the characters, especially Jeremy and Preston, and I loved Jeremy’s family. Grandma and her quilts were the sweetest! And I loved every interaction that featured Brendan messing with Preston!

Wow. Just finished and am pleasantly surprised I underestimated the book. I thought it would be a light-hearted bully hockey romance. No, ma'am, that was not this book. In a good (but bad?) way.
I enjoyed that both MMCs had strong characters and, throughout the course of the book, remained who they were but working on it - no magic wand here. There were emotion-heavy moments where my brain translated to my body that I was having some of those experiences along with them. I really enjoyed the roller coaster ride.

**Trigger Warning** Please Please read the trigger warnings. As I mentioned above, this is not a light-hearted read and there are several types of topics addressed in the book that can be uncomfortable or challenging for some readers.
