I'm settling on a 3.5 rating because I didn't love it. It dragged through the first third to half, and then only sped up because the structure went from covering several months to doing the highlights of several years. I spent half the book mad about Julia, or uneasy about her choices in relation to Alice. In the last third, though, that kind of went away. The ending was bittersweet but I do like how it tied the important things up while still leaving the reader free to imagine what might have come next.

The most beautiful book I have read this year. Deserves every single ounce of love

Wow, she does it again. An absolutely amazing book that I can’t recommend enough. A beautiful homage to Little Women that follows the ups and downs of four sisters in Chicago. Heartbreaking, full of love and forgiveness, I could talk about this book for hours.

It was a bit difficult to follow the pacing on audiobook but after a few chapters I was able to get my footing and I couldn’t stop listening! It was an emotional book and had a good plot. I couldn’t stand Julia though. And the ending was so sad. Why did
Silvia have to die :(
