Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano was a very complicated book for me. Starting with the positives. Ann Napolitano is an absolutely amazing author. I've seen other reviews saying that the book is long, boring, and slow-paced, but I actually think that the writing was beautiful, and maybe a bit slow at times, especially in the middle. I think the characterization is fantastic, and the relations between the four sisters, with the dad, with the mom, and with William himself. I think the problems FOR ME, start with the events halfway through the book. I personally believe the book would not have been the same or as effective without these choices, but I personally feel very morally off about them. I think they lead to get discussions about love, choices and family, I just disagree with the characters choices. Overall, I think this is a good book for those looking for family dynamics, love, being your own person (even while still being in a relationship).

This was so beautiful!!! I really enjoyed it. I think it was a teensy bit heavy-handed in its references to Little Women, however, it handled it really well. The shifts in perspective through time were really useful. At first, I thought that an omnipresent narrator would've sufficed but I enjoyed the shifting perspectives of each event. I come from a large family, no sisters, but still a family with myths and legends passed down, and considering that through the ending chapters of this book made me sob.

I know mine is an unpopular opinion, but I think this book was too long and slow. In the beginning, a lot of time is spent developing the close family relationship, especially among the sisters, but just a few events manage to tear the family apart for 25 years. Granted, these are not minor events, but the book then shifts to processing everyone's emotions over and over. I kept reading because so many reviewers raved about it but I was disappointed by the repetition and the pace.

What a beautiful beautiful book. As a younger sister with a deep bond to my older sister, I was enraged and understanding and sad and mad all throughout. That’s how you know it’s a good and authentic story. I loved every part of this book, even when I was so angry at one of the sisters I wanted to scream.

It was so beautifully written. Getting to see such a unique POV structure was refreshing and I loved being inside all of their heads. This tiny nuclear family with diamond strings connecting them to each other.

I loved it.

I feel like this book could’ve been shorter and still accomplished the same result. Felt pretty slow. I enjoyed the writing style. The book wasn’t bad, just overall fine.

This book is about depreession and generacional trauma. I enjoyed, I think the autor knows pretty well what depression is, but don't read It if you want some cozy Little women retelling.
