I honestly enjoyed the first 50-100 pages of this book and then it just seemed to drag on. The pacing of the book was awkward and the “high points” of the story were rushed through and anticlimactic. The main characters were either unlikable or lacked depth. William seemed like a shell of a person with no thoughts or feelings and his dialogue was severely limited for him being a main character. It was hard to follow the timeline even with the dates since it would switch to a new POV and sometimes go back in time or skip way ahead. I can see why people enjoy this book but personally I found it dull and emotionless despite the many ups and downs (mainly downs).
