I am not usually a fan of retellings or reimaginings of classics but this one was so different. The writing was amazing. I loved how the author kept you guessing on which sister represented who.

I knew this book was going to wreck me, and wreck me it did. The characters were flawed (which made them seem more real), but I still loved following them through their life. Wish I could read it all over again

I was only able to see the sisters’s bond in bursts in the book and more towards the end. Rose and Julia seemed very closed-minded when it came to certain things.

4.5 stars. I’m a sucker for books that are well written and really bring you into how the characters are thinking and feeling and this one did just that. It’s a family drama set over the course of a few decades from multiple perspectives. It’s a reminder that choices are never easy, we never know what someone is walking through, and it’s never too late. I quite enjoyed this book and now am ready for a light read!
