I'm not really interested in the financial aspect of neocolonialism. I'm more interested in the psychological implications and potential solutions.

Pros: the first few chapters and last few chapters provide a great systemic analysis of neocolonialism.

Cons. The middle 10 chapters are basically just lists of the Western corporations that gripped Africa when the book was written, and how much money/resources they extract. The section is bogged down in details.

Unbelievably detailed and researched work. Nkrumah’s thesis is concise, ideologically grounded, and incredibly well supported. They really don’t do it like this anymore. Essential reading, even just selected chapters.

This is a hard book to read and understand completely, but taking the time to do so will teach you legit *exactly* how the world works. Nkrumah names all the names that steal and exploit Africas resources and people. This is the follow up to Lenin’s imperialism, set in the last stage, and current stage, of capitalism. The introduction alone is packed with Nkrumahs first hand and well researched analysis of imperialism and its tactics. Cant recommend this book enough, 10/10
