Who are the Hatak Witches and what do they have to do with the museum break in? The first half of the novel is a more standard mystery; whereas, the last half was more fantasy/horror. The ending felt a bit rushed but this was still the best spooky book I have read this season.

I really enjoyed reading an indigenous myth-centred mystery but found it hard to keep picking the book up, perhaps due to how much of a slow burn this was. Once the answer to the puzzle was uncovered, it was too quickly resolved in my opinion.

Utterly spooky and had me tense and keeping the lights on. Loved the cosmology and the mystery. Dealt with some grisly murders and upsetting content so check content warnings for sure.
