I was super intrigued by this book! I wanted to devour the book as soon as Scarlett was at Caraval. It was so magical and intriging!!! The last 100 pages were a real rollercoaster with sharp turns all the time. My brain couldn't handle the amount of plot twist that happened.

I loved the characters a lot and really related to Scarlett. Only not a fan of the sister.

Garber uses rich descriptions and imagery in this novel. I was always on the edge of my seat because the MC was thrown into an unexpected quest in Caraval that was mentally challenging and tested her wits, bravery, trust, and love for her sister (who was the one who dragged her out to compete in Caravel in the first place). TBH, the female MC was annoyingly stubborn in her thinking and refused to accept guidance from those who tried to help her, but she came through stronger than expected.  The plot twists were unexpected which I liked, but I didn’t love any of the characters though I enjoyed the mystery aspect.

We all know you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain, but can you loop back around to become good again?

Caraval is a game few can play, where magic lives in everything, and you cannot trust what you thought you knew. After an unfortunate accident last time, Master of the game, Legend wants to discover if there is any good left in him, and letters from sisters Scarlett and Donatella give him the perfect opportunity to find out.

The book focuses on Scarlett, a loving girl stuck in a life where misfortune and pain surround her. Stories of Caraval bring her comfort, but is the game all it is cracked up to be? She is forced to make impossible decision after impossible decision and is confronted with hard truths and unexpected secrets that may just save her. But is her loving nature enough to win the game?

If you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for? There is an invitation to the games with your name on it!

I had heard so many mixed reviews on this one, but decided to give it a whirl since I found the whole series for pretty cheap. And boy am I happy I did give it a shot.

I loved this story. It was mysterious and exciting. I loved the setting and felt I was right there with the characters taking part in this dangerous game.

The atmosphere of this book was exactly what I wanted, and the story had me hooked from page one. I will be picking the second book of this series up soon!
