A fascinating overview of the complexities and influences of the British Empire on itself, its peoples’ culture, and the world as a whole. I wonder if I were British if I would have marked this as 5 stars. I learned so much and I feel that Sanghera does an amazing job at talking about the pros and cons of all of this imperialism. I also often had to stop and look up who people were/where that place is, etc. But I’m so happy I read it and will search out more by this author. ALSO my copy had a foreword for American readers that I found very good and helpful.
