I expected more from this book, considering the first 3 books are masterpieces and that have also gotten better over time. But this book almost felt more like a marvel film in the sense it was very reliant on character cameos and Easter eggs to tell the story. Its nostalgia wrapped up as a story, I don’t know much more about Haymitch than I did prior to reading this book. On a positive side it’s emotional and does a pack a punch but I’m not sure if it’s because the premise and main plot is children dying brutally or because I was deeply connected to these characters. It’s often that I wish a book was longer but I think this could’ve possibly benefited from a few more chapters.
