I can only read his books every couple of months as amazing as the writing and twists are. The reality of humanity is depressingly real in his pages, time to read romance for a while.
This was an enjoyable read. I have liked this author's work in the past and was not disappointed. Not as many great surprises as some of my favorites, but well worth the time to read. I liked it.
This was impressive. Every time I thought they were nearing the end of the story, I realized there was still a half book to go. Which made me happy. It's fairly quickly moving, and becomes a guessing game of who's-doing-what. Fans of Lehane will love it.

Incredibly disturbing. Awesomely gritty. Proof that genre fiction can be so awesome, and that Dennis Lehane is just the most fabulous person. Explores morality and violence and sadism and is just all-around awesome, if you're willing to just be disturbed out of your mind.
Not my favorite in the Kenzie/Gennaro series. However, it was still well written and the mystery wrap-up was totally unexpected.

This is for sure this series' weakest link. It felt like the plot went off the rails towards the end, I had to suspend belief a little too often, and the climax/reveal felt rushed and unsatisfying.
Still an entertaining read, it just lacked the realism and depth that I've come to expect from a Lehane novel.

Although this isn’t my favorite book of the series, I think it is all of the main characters at their true peak. Reading this felt like watching the Golden State Warriors in the mid 2010’s- you know that Kenzie and Gennaro will end up on top, just a matter of how.
Lehane blends comedy and drama seamlessly.

I enjoyed this book very much although not as much as "gone, baby, gone". Good mystery and I loved the character development.
This book was a little disappointing because of the violence Kensie inflicts on a couple of characters. Before, it was done in self defense. What I really liked was Bubba's character development. We got a glimmer of it in Gone, Baby , Gone.
Still a huge fan, though.
