didn't connect with the characters at all. no discernible traits other than that one singular adjective that fully captures their entire personality. i don't mind a book having no plot but this one was boring.

I capitoli alternano presente e passato, ma li ho sentiti slegati. Le donne mi sono sembrate tutte fredde, sia nella loro adolescenza sia nell'età adulta. Gli uomini rimangono ancor più sullo sfondo.
Ho percepito un grande sforzo nel voler scrivere una storia tragica, ma gli eventi narrati non mi hanno toccato più di tanto.
