This was SO GOOD and would have easily been 5 stars, except for the ending. The book had so much lead up to something bigger and then.. nothing. Nothing really happened, no issues seemed to be really resolved. The pacing at the end was just way too rushed. I think the novel relies too much on someone having knowledge of the podcast it’s based on. If you listen to the podcast, you’ll get your satisfactory ending and you’ll have more of an idea of what’s actually happening with the side plots and character. But as just a novel, it’s a lead up to a whole lot of nothing and I don’t think it’d be nearly as enjoyable if you don’t already know the characters from the podcast. But the book itself until the end was awesome, so... 4 stars.

I loved this so much! This book is basically part of the bright sessions but only focused on Caleb and Adam. I’ve listened to the podcast the bright sessions, and this book does a fantastic job of expanding on the relationship between Caleb and Adam. Their characters are expanded upon in really interesting ways and it’s cool to hear from Adams POV as well. The descriptions of feelings and depression and anxiety are really well done. Basically if you like the bright sessions you’re going to like this book. One thing that I will say though, is that if you have never listened to the podcast you will be a bit confused for certain parts of the plot. Anyways great book, love this story a lot.

I loved this book and the relationship between Caleb and Adam but oh my lord the pacing frustrated me so much! The last 20% felt like a second book packed into not nearly enough time/pages for everything it was trying to do.
