So, so good! This was slow burn and it was excellent. I loved Julia and Alec together and as individual characters. Their every conversation was entertaining, although maybe a bit dramatic because they either ended in a fight or in a kiss. The portrayal of the antagonists and the conflict might have been a bit campy but I feel like it fit with the vibe of the book. All in all: loved it! I'll definitely read more from this author :)

I thought this was pretty cute, for a fun, fast read. The tension between the h/h was pretty delicious, even if I at times wanted to smack them for being so ridiculous in regards to each other. All in all, though it was a bit predictable, I enjoyed it.

***3.5***

Too long, too prissy, too unbelievable.

I enjoy Hawkin's books and I loved the plot concept but in the end it didn't deliver as much as I would've hoped. However, I do love the characters. Julia and Alex have great development throughout the story and their romance is enjoyable but I was left wanting at the end. I will say that people should give it a chance and maybe you'll get something out of it that I didn't.

Truly disliked this. Something kept me reading, though I skimmed a bit, so I give it 1.5 stars. I despised both main characters, and I hated them together. I'd rather read about the secondary characters, and they were awful. At least they were more complex and interesting.

Pass on this one.

Since I'm almost done with all the Quinn and James books, I've been looking for someone else else to fill the void. Hawkins might be it, but not from this book, so much.

This story started out pretty good. I liked the idea. But along the way, I just wanted to throttle the both of them. They were so incredibly annoying with how they felt about each other. Not to mention Julia and her oddly prudish behavior.

I'll try some more from this author, but I didn't love this one.
