I really enjoyed this short romance novel - it was hot and funny and surprisingly emotional. I also really likedLuna's post-sex jailhouse tattoo freakout - it seemed like such a realistic reaction to that kind of risk and yet I've never seen it play out this way in a romance novel before , so that was cool to see as well.

Convict had me hooked from the first line. There's just something about a bad boy who's hiding his secrets that draws you in and keeps you reading.
Luna is kick-ass. I loved that she never took crap from Stone. She not only insisted she could protect herself and deserved to make her own decisions about what was good for her, she proved it to Stone too, instead of it just being platitudes.
Overall, this is an excellent story and very well written, and I don't just give out excellent reviews without a reason (check my stats). For me, the only iffy scene was when Stone convinces Luna about his secret past. His personality didn't seem the same as the rest of the book. With his anger issues and sense of fatalism that he usually showed, I felt his pleading was out of character. However, it's a short and almost inconsequential part of the story. If you can accept that she would believe him after all they had already been through (and you should), then it doesn't affect the story at all.

What a couple
I love the way the author wrote Luna and Stone's attraction to each other. Stone's inability to see himself as a good person only turns around because he wants and needs Luna in his life. Both of them are totally opposite each other. But they fine love as the reason to level out their lives. This book was an easy read.

Fantastic book. Loved the story and the characters we meet Luna (Policewoman) and Stone (Ex convict). Both characters are realistic and believable. The story took us from their first meeting through the building of something good and on to commitment to each other. I don't consider that that statement a spoiler because we know we are going to get a HEA with Roxie.
The story gives us the good with the characters and their friends and the bad with Stone'e pevious life. Both the main and side characters are likable/lovable.

I really enjoyed this story!!! It was very well written and the characters are very engaging. I fell in love with Stone and Luna right away. Stone is an ex-con that is trying to adjust back into life, a life that he has really never known before. He has a good heart, which you see right away as he tries to deal with his issues and control his anger. Luna is a detective that runs into Stone on the beach before running into him through work. I love how smart Luna is. She knows that there is more going on with Stone that is on the surface and than what the records tell her. I love that she trusts her instincts but still gives Stone a chance.
There is plenty going on in this story! There is some explosive chemistry between Luna and Stone, that I loved, along with a great plot. The sex is explicit and hot when it happens but it fits the story. There is plenty of action and intrigue to keep you guessing exactly what's going to happen next and how things are going to work out. Once I started reading the story, I didn't want to stop. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I loved the character development with Stone. The story flows really well and is smooth the whole time. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to more from Roxie Noir.
