I have always found Florence Welch to be a fascinating being. The way she holds herself, her voice and her energy when she's on stage.
I love her honesty, too. She talks about these feelings we all try to bury, we all try to get over.
This book is filled with handwritten notes, with each and every lyrics from the Florence + the Machine albums, drawings, thoughts, photographs. It's a very beautiful book.

A collection of the lyrics of Florence + The Machine’s songs, organized by album. The final section of the book is Welch’s poetry. There are photos and scans of handwritten lyrics and drawings throughout. This is truly a treasure trove of a book.
It was a delight to read the lyrics of songs I’ve been singing since I was 14 (nearly 10 years now!) and to see how Welch’s style has evolved from album to album. Even with this growth, she’s never abandoned the ethereal voice that typifies her work. I would definitely recommend this to lovers of poetry and music.

Florence Welch, how I love your lyrics! The worlds you create are magical (even though it became increasingly obvious through the snippets of journal pages you don't know the difference between your and you're lol).
I listened along as I read your first 4 albums. It provided a whole new lyrical experience; one that would not have been provided to me with just listening or reading alone. Haunting, breathtaking, clever, enchanting to say the least.
When I got to your poetry...I am reminded once again that my favorite lyricists are rarely my favorite poets when it comes to what they choose to label a poem. I struggled with this with Marina too. It was fun to see a more messy, 'bad girl' Florence but the lush quality was lost.
I am happy to see my favorite artists try other art forms. Sometimes it feels like they don't have to prove themselves in a new medium for exposure though...pick this up to experience FATM's music in a new way, not necessarily the handful of poems in the back.

lyrics, poems, photos, drawings and handwritten notes fill this aesthetically gorgeous book. would’ve been cool to have details, insight beyond the lyrics. I hadn’t even heard of this book until I stumbled upon it at the library.

The chokehold Florence Welch has had over me since 2009 is incredible. Seeing how her lyrics have evolved in one singular location, the handwritten notes, paintings associated with different albums, and her poetry were all so beautifully organized. It's certainly a coffee table book, but a gorgeous one.
