Some activities encouraged in the book should come with health / safety warnings and do not. Book is focused on a witchcraft movement similar to Wicca that does not have a long tradition of practice. At the same time, author tries to appeal to legitimacy by connecting traditions to much older folk tales. There are many exercises the author encourages readers to do that would be time consuming.

This book is fine. I wasn’t impressed by it. It has some good information in it, but some important things are left out that beginners would need to know to fully understand it. It also aims to explain how traditional witchcraft is different from wicca, but everything taught in the book is heavily based in/similar to wiccan traditions, which disappointed me because I was looking for information on witchcraft that’s not based in wicca. I was also very disappointed in the lack of folklore. The book says that’s an integral part of traditional witchcraft but only includes a select few sections on it. I at least feel like there was some information to be gleaned from it, but I would recommend other books over this one for pretty much anything you’re looking for.
