I love that our leading lady knows about shifters, has kept this secret for years, but doesn't necessarily understand anything about them. There’s such a push and pull when our leading man decides he’s going to claim her and she’s like, “no.” All the other books had more of a, “we are meant to be together” vibe and I loved the fight in this one.

Not my favorite in the series but okay. A solid finish to the series.

Rand breaks pack law during the pack’s run the night of the full moon when he has an overwhelming need to go to the waterfall located on the neighboring property owned by a human. When he gets to the waterfall he looks down into the eyes of his fated mate, Natalie.

Natalie looks up while skinny dipping in the pool of the waterfall on her property into the eyes of a Wolf, a wild she recognizes as Rand a wolf shifter. Natalie has recently moved to Montana to live in the dilapidated ranch house she inherited from her Great Uncle Adam.

Even though Natalie is extremely attracted to Rand she assumes he’s just out for a good time and their physical relationship won’t last more than a few days. She doesn’t believe in love or anything serious. Meanwhile Rand is going nuts trying to convince her his possessiveness is because he wants to be with her forever and she’s his. Natalie’s parents’ marriage is hostile and wasn’t a good example of love, while Rand’s parents are still very much in a loving relationship. Natalie is convinced Rand’s interest is purely a biological drive and not something she wants any part of long term nor does she think it can be trusted.

Their emotional relationship is somewhat of a slow burn even though physically they can’t keep their hands off each other. This is another great addition to the Wolf Ranch series with appearances by characters from the previous books.

I received an ARC from the authors and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

So we finally get to meet the "real" Natalie Sheffield. I thought it was kind of awesome that she held onto the secret for so many years and wasn't fazed by the information at all. I also thought it was kind of sad that her life and relationship with her family was so awful.

Rand and Natalie were combustible from the very first moment. Although she was not a shifter, I had the feeling that she felt more right about being a fated mate then she could accept.

I'm not sure if this is the last book in this series or not, but Nathan Brown escalated his behavior to an almost unbelievable point. It just seems like we haven't seen the last of him. But, maybe we have. Who knows?

I like the way Rand's friends and family embraced and supported Natalie. I also enjoyed the bits of action, angst, and suspense here and there. I also can't forget the fair amount of steam Rand and Natalie managed to generate. This was a fast paced, enjoyable read that I would rate at 4.5 stars. There was also a bonus included.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I actually managed to binge this series without getting bored. They authors switched up the story lines well.

The one thing that bugged me about this story was the entire pack knowing about Clint having been an enforcer now that he was retired. That still isn’t safe to have as public knowledge and should have stayed secret between the main people who found out in his book.

Also curious if this is the end or if Nash and Johnny get their own books?

For the most part I really enjoyed this latest standalone edition to the Wolf Ranch series. Natalie grew up knowing about the cowboys on Wolf Ranch and how different they are, but she always kept their secret. To the extent that she didn't even tell them that she knew. I loved this dynamic. It really made it seem like Natalie was 'one of the team'. That's why I was so disappointed at the lack of respect that the pack showed her in return. Rather than being open with her in what they wanted, they set out to manipulate her. I don't know if I would have forgiven them all so quickly.
