Another Chicago crime novel by Reaves. Lots of action and plot but the characters were a bit thin.

Mean town blues is a classic noir crime story about Tommy who is home from the Iraq war after being shot and decides to go to Chicago to visit his friend (and crash on his couch). He meets a girl called Lisa who is being stalked by a creep and Tommy decides to have a "talk" with the guy but the creep ends up dead. The only problem is the creep is actually the son of a high ranked mobster and his father thinks it's a rival outfit out for revenge.

It was a well written book with plenty of plot turns and interesting characters.
