Thomas Jefferson was a really interesting guy, but you wouldn't know it from this book. Also, the slaves all looked too happy in the illustrations.

Exceptional! We read this book aloud along with our Revolutionary time period study. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is captivating. Not a dry story at all! I enjoy the idea of walking through a day in the life during a past era. Very enlightening! We had good discussions comparing and contrasting past and current lifestyles.
